Online Enrollment Directions for Parents

WardogMiami Public Schools is pleased to present online enrollment for all students. The online student enrollment forms are designed to provide a faster and more convenient way for parents to pre-register their child into the Miami School system.

For parents without access to a computer or unable to access the internet, each school has computers available that you can use on-site.

To get started with the correct set of instructions, please carefully choose from the following:

New Student

The beginning procedure is the same for

New or Returning Students, either Traditional or Virtual.



This page contains instructions for both students who have NEVER been in the Miami District as ANY time in the past, and also students coming from outside the Miami District, but who previously attended Miami at ANY time in the past. (includes Head Start) (Not currently enrolled)

Step 1

For parents of NEW or PREVIOUS students - This link  will take you to the online Enrollment page to begin pre-registration.

Enter the following:

  • Student’s information
  • Grade Level
  • School Year – Please select carefully for current year vs next school year 
  • School Preference – the District will place all students in their appropriate school.
  • Household information- Use physical address
  • Your email address
  • Validate your identity, then click on the APPLY TO SCHOOL button

Upon approval, an email will be sent at the email address you have provided. The email will include:

  • The Access ID to add the student to a Parent Portal Account
  • The Access Password
  • The link to the PowerSchool web address for Parent Portal

Step 2

Option A: (Paper Forms)

Elementary Students (Traditional or Virtual) need to pick up and complete an enrollment packet of forms from the Central Administration Office at 16 North Main.

Middle School Students (Traditional or Virtual) need to pick up and complete an enrollment packet of forms from WRMS at 504 Goodrich Blvd.

High Schools Students (Traditional or Virtual) need to pick up and complete an enrollment packet of forms from MHS at 2000 East Central.

All students must provide:

Proof of Address (rent receipt, lease agreement or mortgage document)
Student's birth certificate
Copies of parents' IDs
Proof of immunizations
CDIB Card (if applicable)

Option B: (Online Forms)

Go to the Miami Schools Parent Portal website on a browser: Miami Public Schools Parent Portal.

IF you already have a Parent Account made for an older sibling / current Miami Student, You may login to it and ADD the new student to your existing Parent Account (see Step 4) If not, proceed to Step 3.

Step 3

CREATE PARENT ACCOUNT - When the login page for PowerSchool Student and Parent Portal opens:    

  1. Click on the Create Account tab
  2. Click on the Create Account button
  3. Fill out your information
  4. Under Link Students to Account
  5. Use the information provided to you in the email you received after filling out the online Enrollment form.
  6. Click on the Enter button

Step 4 

Once you have logged in to the Student and Parent Portal – (if you have more than one student in Miami Schools make sure to click on your new or returning student’s tab at the top left side of the page) – then:

  • Click on Forms on the left hand side.
  • Complete all the forms listed in the “GENERAL” category

These forms do not have to be completed on the same day however, your data entered will not be saved unless you click on the submit button at the bottom of each form.

PLEASE NOTE** These online forms pre-register your student for Miami Schools. Some of the documents will allow you to upload directly.  You may also choose to have the school copy and process for you.  Some require a pen signature and you will need to bring those in.

  • Proof of Residency*
  • Original Birth Certificate
  • Immunization Records
  • Social Security Card
  • Custody papers (if applicable)
  • CDIB Card (if applicable)

Utility Bill, Rental Agreement or Purchase Agreement. Utility Bill must be gas, water or electric. Cell Phone or Cable bills will not be accepted.

Where do I take my documents?

  • Grades PreK-Kindergarten to Wilson Elementary
  • Grades 1-3 to Central Office
  • Grades 6-8 to Will Rogers Middle School
  • Grades 9-12 to Miami High School
